Course Description:

Students will learn how to observe the world like an artist and develop drawing techniques that inspire creative minds. If you’ve never touched a 6B pencil before, learn these basics to build on your natural talents. If you already have a grasp on the basics, advance your skill by challenging yourself to learn how to wield a pencil to capture your vision and express your own unique style.

Major Principles Being Taught:

Students will go from learning the many ways to use lines to a finished gray scale still life drawing by the end of this class. They will learn how to see through the surface of objects to create 3D forms. How to use value for light, shadow, and reflections on forms. How to achieve depth with perspective and composition. They will learn a variety of drawing, blending, and texture techniques using graphite pencils, charcoal, and ink pens.
